Welcome to the Stouffville Children’s Choir, home of the Hummin'Birds!
As Stouffville’s new youth choir, we are on a mission to create a fun and encouraging space for kids aged 7-10 to learn, be creative and develop their love of music alongside others!
Our Choir program blends a mix of contemporary songs like pop, rock, theatre, and modern hits with a creative twist where all members will collaborate to create a song that the whole choir will record and sing together!
We want every child to have an experience that builds their confidence, gives them a way to be creative with music, and makes them feel part of a community.
If you have a child that would love the opportunity to sing in a choir,
please RSVP for our free Open Rehearsal on Sept 12, 2026!
Stouffville Children's Choir
Opening this September!
Our Three Roots
Growth, Expression, & Confidence
We believe music education for children should be an fun and inspiring journey, but also something that challenges them and gives them an opportunity to grow. To give our singers a strong foundation, the Stouffville Children's Choir grows from these three core roots. These are the values we care about most, and the ones we hope your child will develop throughout their time with us.
Growth
Expression
Confidence
For us, Growth is the journey of expanding your child's musical capabilities and personal character.
When kids are having fun and genuinely engaged, musical skill naturally follows because the repetition of practice becomes an exciting process where mistakes eventually lead to a result they actually want.
Backed by professional vocal coaching and accompaniment, our singers will learn proper vocal technique, how to sing in harmony, and how to lock into the groove and stay on beat.
Beyond just the musical skills, we want our singers to realize that the repetition and self-discipline they practice here are the exact same tools that can build the results they want in life.
Performance often takes center stage when people think about a choir.
While learning and performing songs is an incredibly fun and rewarding experience, the creative side of music like songwriting, is often overlooked. For us, Expression is about helping your child find their own unique voice and understanding that music is more than just singing songs they hear.
Leveraging our backgrounds as songwriters and producers, we want to give them a chance to see what music can be beyond just performance.
We will work with our choir members to collaborate and write an original song together, which will be professionally recorded at the end of each term and performed live in June.
For us, Confidence is about finding the courage to share your voice within a team. Singing in a group is a powerful equalizer; children who are a bit more shy get a safe space to slowly step out of their comfort zone, while more experienced singers get an opportunity to lead and help others.
No matter where your child is starting from, this choir will be a supportive community that will allow them to develop friendships that support the development of their confidence on and off stage.
The Stouffville Children's Choir will be led by the founders of Soundtree Studio, a dynamic duo consisting of an award-winning vocal teacher/music therapist and a professional multi-instrumentalist/sound designer.
We are both active industry professionals who understand the modern music business, studio recording, and commercial songwriting.
Starting this choir is a really special opportunity for us to connect with students beyond our 1 on 1s in a format that we know will inspire many young kids to continue developing their joy of music. Cynthia and I both have our own unique stories with how we got started in music however both of our passions for music grew out of doing something we love. For us, cultivating an environment where children can do something they enjoy, be creative and develop friendships is the reason we created this choir!
We are excited to work with you and children and want to you know that we will do everything we can to make it fun and safe environment so that your child can grow beyond their instrument.
